Bay County EDA Reviews Year's Successes

2017/11/15

BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Bay County's Economic Development Alliance held it's annual luncheon Wednesday afternoon.

City and County leaders gathered to review the year's successes and discuss on-going plans.

The EDA advanced more than 20 projects this year; from initial plans to completing negotiations.

Officials say the county did especially well at collaborating, communicating, and gaining traction in bringing companies to the county.

EDA President Becca Hardin announced several completed projects and the thousands of jobs brought to Bay County this year.

Chairman Wayne Stubbs said the largest accomplishment of the year is the GKN Aerospace project.

"The EDA accomplished a lot this year. We've been working with some of our education partners on some very exciting work force development programs, and we've been working with some existing industries on their plans to grow.

We have a lot of companies in the pipeline that are looking at Bay County so it's an exciting year," Stubbs said.

President Hardin said there were 17 company visits to Bay County this year.
